Congratulations to Henrietta Public Library –
the 2011 RRLC Public Library of the Year!
“Magical”, “fantastic”, “a place for learning and thought”, “great service”, “welcoming”, “best library I’ve ever been 
in” were some of the words HPL patrons used about their library when we asked: “Do You Love Your Library?”
“The Henrietta Public Library is clearly the heart and soul of the community” said Todd Butler, Executive Director of the Ad Council of Rochester and a judge along with Marcia Eggleston, NYLA President. “Patrons see it as a special place for people of all ages.”
What is it that makes the Henrietta Public Library special, according to Director Pat Bernhard? “The staff. Everything we are goes back to the staff.” Patrons agree: “Warm”, “knowledgeable”, “creative”, “greatest asset” were some of the many compliments from nominators. Asked her wish for the future, Pat said, “…that we maintain our edge wherever the library is ultimately headed.”
Henrietta Public Library is the heart of the Henrietta community and the library staff is the heart of the library!

The library will receive a $100 gift card, an engraved plaque and a banner to hang in the library. The library and its staff will be honored at the RRLC Annual Meeting, June 2 at Casa Larga.
