Al Krober, is the 2010 RRLC Academic Library of the Year. The judges for the National Library Week Contest –
Ellen Stoll Walsh, local children’s author and storyteller,
Nikki Rudd, 10NBC news reporter, and
Bernard Margolis, NY State Librarian – said the nominations reflected an excitement about the library.
Asked
about the support the Library has received, Al said: “The new library
doubled our door count in the first year. We wanted to live up to
that. Just as we hoped, the library has become a center of the campus.”
Like
Jeff Baker, winner of the Public Library of the Year, Al said the
secret is in listening to the library’s users – faculty, administration
and students – and library staff.
