“The Bausch + Lomb Library plays a critical role in helping our scientists develop new products by giving them access to key scientific information. We are lucky to have access to literally thousands of publications on paper and electronically. More importantly, our library is a global resource for Bausch + Lomb, helping our teams around the world ultimately bring innovative eye health solutions to market that help people see better -- to live better." said George Grobe III, Ph.D., Vice President of Global Research & Development, Vision Care at Bausch + Lomb.
This quote, and several others like it, was the reason the judges for the RRLC National Library Week contest chose the Research and Development Library at Bausch + Lomb
as the RRLC 2012 Academic/Special Library of the Year.
The judges noted especially that nominators seemed well acquainted with the library and the librarian, Ellen Dietterick. The judges said that “…at a time when many are questioning need for a library/librarian, these library users recognize the great value they are getting for themselves and their company.”
Serving a global community and making that service personal is something the library and the librarian take pride in. And their community recognizes it!
Congratulations, Ellen, for Bausch + Lomb R & D Library being selected as the 2012 RRLC Academic/Special Library of the Year!
