The Rochester Regional Library Council held its Annual Membership Meeting on Thursday, June 7, 2012 in the Vintage Room at Casa Larga. RRLC recognized the accomplishments of several award winning member libraries and librarians at this year’s meeting.

RRLC honored the following Award Winners:

2011 ACRL President’s Program Innovation Contest, Kathi Sigler

LITA/Christian (Chris) Larew Memorial Scholarship, Bill Jones

2012 Reference and User Services Association’s Virginia Boucher-OCLC Distinguished ILL Librarian Award; Cyril Oberlander

2012 Library Journal’s Movers and Shakers, Andy Austin & Melissa Jadlos
RRLC also honored its three Library of the Year award winners. The libraries were nominated by their users, and the final decision was made by an independent panel of judges.

The Research & Development Library at Bausch + Lomb was the winner in the special library category. Ellen Dietterick was present to accept their award.

Brighton Memorial Library was the winner in the public library category. Library executive director Jennifer Ries-Taggart and her staff were on hand to receive their award. Brighton Town Supervisor Bill Moehle attended and congratulated Brighton Memorial and Senator Joe Robach presented a Senate Resolution to Brighton.

The Autumn Lane Elementary School Library was the winner in the school library category. Librarian Kate Boggs attended, along with her library colleagues. Senator Joe Robach presented a Senate Resolution to Autumn Lane.
An honorable mention was given to Gates Public Library, along with the Honeoye Falls Manor Intermediate School Library. Gates Town Supervisor Mark Assini attended and congratulated Gates Public.
