RRLC Summer School 2011
The RRLC "summer school" program entered its sixth year and as always, there was something for everyone. The series of summer classes started out as "Summer School for School Librarians", in response to a request from librarians at the Rochester City School District. They told us it was difficult to get away from their libraries during the school day to attend our classes and training sessions, but they would love to have some opportunities for continuing education over the summer. While this series is designed for school librarians, all RRLC members are welcome to attend if interested.

That first summer program offered nine classes; this year there was a total of 21 classes on the schedule. Some classes were repeats of popular programs that were offered at other times during the year, while others were developed specifically for the summer program.

Highlights of this year's Summer School included “Gaming in Libraries 2011 Update” presented by Brian Mayer and the return of Peggy Sharp, expert on children's books, who shared the best new children's books of 2011.
