The Access Card Program is changing starting July 1, 2013.
The RRLC Board of Trustees approved a change to the RRLC Access Card
policy at its May 2, 2013 meeting. In addition to researchers, faculty
and graduate students at RRLC member institutions, the new policy adds
the following to the list of library patrons eligible for an Access
Card:
- undergraduates of any RRLC member academic institution
- adults 19 years or older that have an MCLS or OWWL public library card
- high school students enrolled in Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, or Concurrent Enrollment programs.
For the complete policy, you may review the Access Card Procedures Manual (pdf).
NEW PROCEDURE REQUIRED - IMPORTANT
In addition to the new policy, libraries that both issue Access Cards and lend to Access Card holders are asked to complete the Access Card Library Participation Form and return with signatures to RRLC. Please return by: JUNE 14. The
form asks the number of Access Cards needed (an estimate is fine) and
also the policies that govern the use of Access Cards in your library.
These policies will be listed on the RRLC website and available as a pdf
for distribution to patrons when they are issued an Access Card.
The
form requires the signatures of the contact person and the library
director indicating their acknowledgement of their responsibilities
under the Access Card program.
INFORMATION SESSIONS
RRLC will be holding information sessions this summer for those unfamiliar with the Access Card program.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact Kathy Miller at kmiller@rrlc.org.
Thank you.
